Elena Vtorygina (United Russia), deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Family, Women and Children, proposed opening special departments for teaching fatherhood and helping male parents in crisis centers for women and children. She reported this to the Moscow City News Agency, commenting on the idea of the Masculine Way public movement to create crisis centers for fathers.
“There are fathers' advice. They have been created practically today in all regions. And as part of their activities, they conduct consultations with fathers, trainings, seminars. And today they do not set such a task - to build a separate crisis center. But in those centers that will be opened today in the constituent entities, it is possible to make such a special department for fathers,”said Vtorigina.
She recalled that earlier it was decided to create crisis centers for women and children in all regions. “Let these crisis centers have a whole department for fathers. This is correct because fathers have their own way of working with children. And everything can be done by one center, like those that are now being created in the subjects. And it is possible to unambiguously solve this problem within the framework of the initiative proposed by the public organization,”added the deputy chairman of the committee.
Earlier, the media reported that the "Men's Way" social movement came up with an initiative to create crisis centers for fathers, where it is proposed to open a paternity school, conduct consultations for fathers, and recruit social mentors for those children who are deprived of the opportunity to communicate with their fathers.
