According to the parliamentarian, the proposal made by the members of the National Parents' Committee is unlikely to be accepted, because children should be in equal conditions, regardless of the composition of the families in which they grow up, Ekonomika Segodnya reports.

Her colleague, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Family, Women and Children, Oksana Pushkina, believes that the proposal requires detailed study.

The initiative of the National Parents' Committee deserves attention and detailed study. I will gladly support it if it is considered at a meeting of our committee, - RIA Novosti quotes the deputy.

She recalled that in Russia a separate allowance for a single mother is not paid in 2020. All incentives and benefits are provided by the state on a general basis, for mothers of any status, and single mothers receive monthly or quarterly payments from regional budgets.

Pushkina added that it is also necessary to create conditions for education, retraining of single mothers, which would allow them to become more financially independent.

Earlier NEWS.ru wrote that an additional allowance for single mothers may appear in Russia. An appeal to the State Duma with a request to support single fathers and mothers was sent by the National Parents' Committee. Due to the pandemic, a difficult economic situation has developed in the country. And single parents are still the most vulnerable social group, despite the fact that benefits have already been paid to children, according to the committee.

Therefore, it is proposed to introduce monthly compensation to mothers and single fathers by the end of this year at the rate of not less than two living wages per family member. The letter specifically stipulates that for such categories of parents, all benefits and benefits should be retained.
