Experts found that 17% of patients with coronavirus infection were infected at home from children. This was announced by the head of the Moscow department of Rospotrebnadzor Elena Andreeva within the framework of a round table of the public chamber of Moscow.
"We conducted a study of 280 cases identified from June 1 to October 21, - 17% of patients in the home were infected from infected children," Andreeva said in response to parents' doubts that children infect others.
According to her, this data, among other things, gives grounds to transfer children to distance learning in order to protect not only the health of children, but also their relatives.
Earlier, Ismail Osmanov, the chief pediatrician of the capital, the chief physician of the Bashlyaeva children's city clinical hospital of the capital's health department, said that in total, about 2 thousand children were hospitalized in Moscow hospitals. As of November 7, 2020, the incidence of COVID-19 cases in children in Moscow is 34,790 cases (7.6% of the total number of cases), 65% of them are children in grades 6-11. During the pandemic, 1,908 children were hospitalized, 92.5% of them with a moderate-severe form, 4.3% with a severe one.
Moscow ranks first in Russia in terms of the number of people infected with coronavirus. In total, 497,516 cases of infection were detected in the city, of which 5,974 in the last day. 358 924 people recovered, 7 643 died.
