The Nizhny Novgorod State Regional Children's Library named after T.A. Mavrina received a thousand copies of the book “Tatiana Mavrina. There is a lot of everything around”(6+). All central children's libraries of the region will receive the new edition as a gift. The project was implemented for the 800th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod with the support of the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
The initiator of the creation of the first children's book about the Honored Artist of the RSFSR Tatyana Mavrina was the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Children's Library, which has been named after her since 2019.
“Tatyana Alekseevna Mavrina is traditionally compared with Vasnetsov, Bilibin and Polenova. More than one generation of children has grown up on her images. And she was born in Nizhny Novgorod and from childhood was in love with everything folk, especially with Gorodets painting. The book will acquaint readers not only with the biography, but also with the original illustrations by Tatyana Mavrina in a fascinating way. This is a wonderful gift for the 120th anniversary of the birth of the famous artist, which is celebrated this year,”said the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Children's Library.

The name of Tatyana Alekseevna Mavrina was assigned to the Nizhny Novgorod State Regional Children's Library on the eve of the centenary of the institution, on October 29, 2019.
T.A. Mavrina (20.12.1900-19.08.1996) - Russian Soviet artist-painter, graphic artist, illustrator. She was born in Nizhny Novgorod, lived and worked in Moscow.
She was called the sorceress of children's fairy tales and the most Russian of all artists. For seventy years of painting and book illustration, she has created a whole gallery of beautiful memorable literary images. Her works are kept in large museums in Russia.
Illustrating books for children took a special place in her work. The most famous design of fairy tales by A.S. Pushkin, including "The Tale of the Dead Princess and the Seven Heroes", "Ruslan and Lyudmila", as well as the collections "By the Pike's Command", "Russian Fairy Tales", "Beyond the Far East". T.A. Mavrina also acted as an illustrator of her own books: "Fairy-tale animals", "Gingerbread are baked, they are not given to the cat in the paws", "Fairy-tale alphabet".
Tatyana Mavrina was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR, had awards and prizes, including the State Prize of the USSR.
