“In the Moscow region, there is a developed network of perinatal centers equipped with modern medical equipment, and top-class medical specialists work. Thanks to this, it is possible to care for premature babies with extremely low body weight - from 490 grams. This allows us to achieve significant results in the struggle for the life of every child. Infant mortality in the Moscow region is significantly lower than the average in Russia, almost 20%, and 11.4% less than in the Central Federal District, "said Deputy Minister of Health of the Moscow Region Svetlana Lazareva.

She noted that in the Moscow region there are 6 perinatal centers of the highest - third level, as well as the Moscow Regional Research Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Since September last year, the project "Become a Mom in the Moscow Region" has been operating. Thanks to the comprehensive service, each mother has the opportunity to get the baby's first documents without leaving the ward, the press service of the Ministry of Health reports.

In addition, at the birth of a baby, parents will receive a gift at the maternity hospital: a set for the first year of the child's life or a cash payment of 20 thousand rubles. The Moscow region became the first region in Russia where such a support measure was introduced.

A single regional call center “Become a Mom in the Moscow Region” was launched in the Moscow Region last year. By calling 8-800-550-30-03 from 08.00 to 20.00, future parents will be able to get answers to all their questions about childbirth in the Moscow region. The call is free.
