The popularity of partner deliveries in perinatal centers and maternity hospitals in the Moscow region has been steadily growing in recent years. As the Deputy Minister of Health of the Moscow Region Svetlana Lazareva notes, in particular, if in 2018 9.7% of all births took place in this format, then in 9 months of 2019 already about 14% of young couples decided to spend this important day together.

Note that partner deliveries in obstetric organizations of the Moscow region are included in the standard package of services under the compulsory medical insurance, which all citizens of the Russian Federation receive, regardless of their place of permanent registration.

Fathers-to-be can prepare for partner childbirth, among other things, at the “Mothers 'Schools” or “Future Parents' Schools” classes, which are held in all city districts and districts of the Moscow region. “Classes devoted to issues of partner childbirth allow future fathers to strengthen their confidence in the advisability of supporting their spouses at such an important and crucial moment as the birth of a baby,” notes Svetlana Lazareva.

In the classroom at the School, obstetricians-gynecologists, anesthesiologists, psychologists, exercise therapy doctors, neonatologists and pediatricians answer all questions of concern to future parents related to pregnancy, intrauterine child development, childbirth, breastfeeding and newborn care. Thematic classes at school help to cope with fears, adjust lifestyle and habits with the maximum benefit for the unborn child. In addition, communication with a psychologist and qualified doctors in the classroom at the "School of Mothers" significantly reduces the likelihood of developing depression in the postpartum period.

As a reminder, on September 1, 2019, the project "Become a Mom in the Moscow Region" was launched in the Moscow Region. Each child born in the Moscow Region receives as a gift a set of things necessary for the first year of life, or, at the choice of the mother, the cash equivalent of a gift in the amount of 20 thousand rubles. In addition, now in each of the maternity hospitals and perinatal centers of the Moscow Region, a young mother can receive all the documents necessary for a new citizen without leaving the ward. Currently, there are 7 perinatal centers and 35 maternity hospitals in the Moscow region. In addition, the Unified Regional Call Center "Become a Mom in the Moscow Region" was launched by calling 8-800-550-30-03. By calling this number, future parents will be able to get answers to all their questions about childbirth in the Moscow region.
