Dads from the Moscow Region began to attend classes of the "Mothers' Schools" more often with their spouses.
"If in 2018 every seventh woman came to classes with her future father, then in 2019 it is already every fifth," said Svetlana Lazareva, Deputy Minister of Health of the Moscow Region.
In 2018 and 9 months of 2019, 10.1 thousand men attended the School of Mothers. The number of dads-to-be who are interested in caring for a newborn has increased by 35%.
Also, the number of schools themselves increased by almost 10%. Classes are usually held in them two to three times a week. The number of expectant mothers who visit them increased by 16%.
In the classroom, men are told how to support a pregnant wife, how to prepare for childbirth with the whole family, what symptoms you need to pay attention to and when you need to go to the hospital, what a partner birth is, and how to properly care for your baby.
On September 1, 2019, the project "Become a Mom in the Moscow Region" was launched in the Moscow Region. Each child born in the Moscow Region receives as a gift a set of things necessary in the first year of life, or, at the choice of the mother, the cash equivalent of a gift in the amount of 20 thousand rubles. In addition, now in each of the maternity hospitals and perinatal centers of the Moscow Region, a young mother can receive all the documents necessary for the child without leaving the ward.
