VORONEZH, November 17 - RIA Novosti. The governor of the Vladimir region, Vladimir Sipyagin, said on his Instagram that he was hospitalized in a private clinic in Moscow, where he will be treated for COVID-19.
Sipyagin on November 13 announced on his Instagram account that he had passed a positive test for COVID-19. A day earlier, he complained of a high temperature and said that he had gone into self-isolation. On Tuesday, a number of Telegram channels reported that Sipyagin's condition worsened and he was urgently transported to Moscow. The governor's press secretary called this information untrue, stating that Sipyagin is in Vladimir and "is still being treated on an outpatient basis," but several hours later she announced the governor's hospitalization, without specifying details.
“This afternoon I was hospitalized. For several days I was treated on an outpatient basis in a polyclinic at my place of residence in Vladimir. Unfortunately, a complication began, and the attending physician insisted on placing me in a hospital. I decided to continue treatment in a private clinic in Moscow at my own expense., so as not to occupy a bed in infectious diseases hospitals, "- wrote Sipyagin.
According to him, there are not many free places in hospitals in the region, but there are patients in a much more serious condition.
"For some of our fellow countrymen suffering from COVID-19, hospitalization will not only preserve health, but save lives," Sipyagin added.
As of November 17, 1404 beds were deployed in the hospitals of the Vladimir region for patients with a new coronavirus infection. Of these, 88% of them are occupied - 1234 beds, 170 beds are free.
