The government of the Russian Federation returned to the consideration of the bill on the creation of baby boxes in hospitals, sent it to the relevant ministries - they should give a response by October 20. This was announced by the State Duma deputy from "United Russia" Oksana Pushkina in her Telegram channel.
“Good news on our amendments to the Federal Law“On Basic Guarantees of Children's Rights in the Russian Federation”, which should regulate the work of baby boxes - the government considered the issue of“windows of life”urgent enough to return to its consideration. The draft amendments have been sent to all relevant ministries - the feedback is planned to be collected by October 20,”the message says.
The parliamentarian thanked the government for responding and returning to the consideration of this bill. “Until the law on baby boxes is passed, we will continue to read the monstrous reports on the dead newborns. We have fixed in the Constitution that children are the most important priority of the state policy of Russia. It's time to move from words to deeds,”concluded Pushkina.
In order to provide a newborn child with timely medical care, the document proposes the creation of specialized places for anonymous abandonment of a child in medical organizations that have in their structure resuscitation and intensive care units for newborns.
