In most families during quarantine, parents began to spend a lot of time with their children, which has improved relations in the family, said Larisa Tutova, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education and Science, speaking at the VII All-Russian online forum "Educators of Russia" on the topic " Healthy children - a healthy future”within the framework of the Moscow International Education Salon (IMSO).
In the last three to four weeks, the attention of parents and teachers has been drawn to the state of health of children in connection with the coronavirus epidemic, the self-isolation of the country's population and the possible consequences for the physical and mental health of children and adults. As Tutova said, according to experts, the consequences of quarantine for families can be both positive and negative.
"The first and main positive aspect of the quarantine is that relationships have improved in many families (despite all the stress that accompanies the situation), parents have begun to spend a lot of time with their children," said the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education and Science in her speech. Negative consequences, according to psychologists, may be due to the lack of fresh air, lack of movement, and an increase in the time children spend with gadgets. All these factors, the parliamentarian clarified, affect the nervous system of children and can lead to illness.
In Russia, from 10 to 17% of children can be called conditionally healthy, Tutova cited data. This means that most of the children who come to kindergartens and schools have health problems.
In 2020, in connection with the pandemic of the new coronavirus infection, the Moscow International Education Fair (IMCO) is being held online from April 26 to April 29.
