The participants of the seminar-meeting of graduates of orphanages "Children of the whole country" in Astrakhan noted the need to update and develop programs of post-boarding support and further education of graduates of orphanages.

The key topics of discussion were such issues of socialization of orphans, as legal literacy of pupils and graduates of orphanages, education of civic responsibility, career guidance, including training and employment, development of the institute of mentoring in the system of children's orphanages, according to a press release received by the VZGLYAD newspaper …

“Today, more than 170 orphans, children left without parental care, and persons from among them study at the Astrakhan State University and the college attached to it. And this figure is growing every year. This is a pleasant tendency, which suggests that the children cope better with entrance examinations, are more prepared for student life and have a desire to study relevant professions and develop,”said the chairman of the Commonwealth, formerly a pupil of the Astrakhan orphanage, a graduate of ASU Albert Sarbalaev.

The seminar was held by the Commonwealth of graduates of orphanages "Children of the whole country" together with the Astrakhan State University with the support of Rosmolodezh in order to exchange successful regional practices of socialization of orphans. The site brought together graduates of orphanages, social teachers, heads of social institutions, government officials, volunteer organizations from the South and North Caucasian Federal Districts.

Taking into account online connections, more than 500 people took part in the work. Greetings to the participants were sent by the Minister of Education of Russia Sergey Kravtsov, the head of Rosmolodezh Alexander Bugaev. Online Olga Okuneva, First Deputy Chairperson of the State Duma Committee on Family, Women and Children, also noted that the experience of those children who take such a responsible step as entering a university to obtain a profession serves as a good example for others.

Until the end of the year, district seminars on key topics in supporting graduates of orphanages will also be held in the Yaroslavl Region (for representatives of the Central Federal District) and the Republic of Buryatia (for participants from the Far Eastern Federal District and the Siberian Federal District).
