Nizhny Novgorod Region became one of 10 pilot regions
All-Russia People's Front and ANO Russia - the Land of Opportunities are starting to implement the Runway project, which involves supporting orphans when entering universities.
According to the organizers, only 100 out of 22,000 orphans who graduate from school every year enter universities. Educational and motivational project "Runway" will allow them to better prepare for entering universities.
The project has already started working in a pilot mode in the Nizhny Novgorod region and 9 more Russian regions. It aims to help children aged 17-18 who will graduate from school in 2021. On the site takeoffpolosa.rf, registration and acceptance of applications from participants is in progress. After it, each potential project participant must pass a vocational guidance test. This will allow professionals to identify motivated students and what subjects they need help in. The pool of participants will be determined by January, and the educational program will begin in January. It includes classes to prepare for the exam and motivational classes. Teachers, including those from the country's leading universities, will prepare children for the successful passing of the Unified State Exam in the specialties they choose.
The schedule includes five main subjects: Russian, mathematics, English, natural science and physics, but it will finally be formed in January, when the profiles announced by the participants become clear.
At the second stage, each participant will be given a mentor from among the winners of the Professional Internship 2.0 projects and the Leaders of Russia competition, who will accompany the ward before passing the Unified State Exam and support him in his future adult life.
“We understand that when a child is left without parents, he is more vulnerable, he needs support and a kind word to believe in himself,” said Alexei Komissarov, co-chairman of the ONF central headquarters, general director of the ANO Russia - Land of Opportunities. - Unfortunately, these guys often lack a simple piece of advice to make the right decision and competently use their opportunities. The Runway project will create a system of remote opportunities for talented orphans and children left without parental care. It will help children identify and develop their abilities, gain self-confidence and become competitive when entering the country's leading universities. We expect that the Runway will be the answer to the most important public demand - ensuring equal opportunities in obtaining free higher education in Russia”.
Eleventh graders from Belgorod, Bryansk, Ivanovo, Volgograd, Kaluga, Kostroma, Yaroslavl, Nizhny Novgorod regions, Krasnodar Territory and Sevastopol are invited to the Runway project in test mode.
