Children and adolescents in South Korea suffer from sleep deprivation, and the international happiness index is the lowest among the member countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). This is reported by KBS with reference to representatives of the Statistical Research Institute (SRI).

As of 2018, South Korean children and adolescents sleep an average of 7.3 hours a night, according to published data.

It is known that high school students sleep least of all at 6.1 hours a day, followed by middle school students - 7.4 hours each and primary school students - 8.7 hours each.

In addition, experts noted a high level of stress among children. 33.8% of schoolchildren said that they sometimes have thoughts of death, and 37.2% of students believe that they are stressed because of problems with their studies.

Life satisfaction among children and adolescents in South Korea is 6.6, the lowest among OECD countries and Europe.

It is known that the top 5 countries in terms of life satisfaction among children and adolescents include: Spain (8.1 points), the Netherlands and Iceland (8 points each), Greece (7.9 points), Finland (7.8 points).

It is noted that Estonia, Slovenia, Luxembourg, Sweden, Switzerland and Norway, this indicator was 7.7 points. A similar situation as in South Korea is observed only in Turkey.
