The head of the region, Andrei Travnikov, held a working meeting at the facility and appreciated the work done to reconstruct and equip the perinatal center.
The new regional perinatal center will provide assistance during pregnancy and childbirth to patients with high perinatal obstetric risk, including women with diseases of other organs and systems, diseases of the reproductive system, infertility, and premature birth. The center will provide various types of high-tech assistance in the fields of obstetrics and neontology, provide outpatient, consulting, diagnostic and rehabilitation assistance to women and newborns.
In an interview, the governor noted that Novosibirsk remained the only city with a population of over one million, where until that time there was no modern perinatal center. “It is necessary, long-awaited, it’s great that after many years of epic it was possible to complete it,” the regional press service of Travnikov quotes.
Recall that the construction of the center was started back in 2013, but due to insufficient funding, the project had to be “frozen”. A new stage of construction began in 2018 - funds were allocated from the regional and federal budgets. As a result, the project was put into operation even ahead of schedule.
The regional perinatal center consists of four blocks of different heights (6-7 floors) and is equipped with a transition to the building of the regional hospital. The capacity of the inpatient department of the new center is 213 beds, designed for 4 thousand deliveries per year. For comparison, about 2.5 thousand deliveries are now being taken in the Regional Hospital.
Now the administration of the regional hospital has to draw up a timetable for moving the department to a new building. The doctors are faced with the task of mastering new premises and equipment in a fairly short time.
