In one of the rooms of the Childhood Castle kindergarten, which was recently built in the city of Kemerovo, spending hundreds of millions of rubles on the project, the ceiling collapsed. The parents of the children filmed the consequences of the accident and shared it in the Kuzbass Incident community on VKontakte. The local administration noticed that none of the pupils were injured due to the collapse.
The incident took place at an institution on Pritomsky Prospekt. The author of the video said that the ceiling fell when she came to the garden for her child and began to dress him. The footage shows that the fragments of the ceiling fell to the floor and filled up children's tables and chairs.
Soon, TASS turned to the city administration for comments. They named the preliminary cause of the accident and suggested that there was a hidden defect in the ceiling structure. Representatives of the mayor's office also noted that the commission will conduct an inspection in the kindergarten, and the general contractor will soon put the premises in order.
The city authorities announced the opening of the Childhood Castle at the end of November 2020. They said that they spent 249 million rubles allocated from the federal budget for construction, 51 million rubles from the regional budget and more than 64 million rubles from the local budget. Then, in the institution, designed for 200 pupils, they equipped several play blocks, a music and gymnasium, as well as a swimming pool, a salt room and a medical center.
In October 2020, the ceiling collapsed on four schoolchildren during a break at Stavropol Gymnasium 3, when students were resting on a bench. As a result, two of them were taken away in an ambulance with injuries, and the rest were released home. After the incident, the prosecutor's office began checking the educational institution, and the deputy director of the school refused to comment on the situation.
