Photo gubdaily.ru Parents of a child who died in the Dzerzhinsk perinatal center are afraid of doctors' impunity In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the tragic story that took place in May 2018 received a loud continuation. Then a newborn boy died in the Dzerzhinsk perinatal center. The baby's parents blame the doctors: they did not reveal bilateral pneumonia in the child. They blame the parents in response: they took their son out of the hospital ahead of schedule.
The father of the deceased boy, Yuri Bogushevich, achieved an appointment with the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin. After that, the head physician of the perinatal center was removed from office, but the parents intend to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Yuri and Elena Bogushevich are doctors themselves: he is an anesthesiologist-resuscitator, she is a nurse. In the spring of 2018, the couple were waiting for the birth of their third son.
Elena, 30, gave birth on May 3 at the perinatal center. The boy was born seven months old - he is 40 centimeters tall and weighs 1750 grams. First, he ended up in intensive care, then the mother and the baby were transferred to the pathology department for newborns and premature babies. According to the parents, the doctors assured that everything was in order with the child and on June 1 he could be discharged. Elena asked to write them out a day earlier - May 30. The doctors allowed it.
“She was told that the child was underweight and needed to sign that we were taking it ourselves,” recalls Yuri. - The wife signed. There were no warnings that our son was sick with something, that there was a threat to his life.
The family came home. Yuri says that everything was fine, but at night he was awakened by the scream of his wife. He ran up - the child was not breathing.
The parents called an ambulance, and the father himself began to carry out resuscitation measures. The doctors who arrived, according to Yuri, behaved competently. The kid was resuscitated and offered to be taken to Children's Hospital 8, as it was closer than the perinatal center. The parents have no complaints about the doctors of this hospital - they did what they could. Then the boy was taken to the intensive care unit of the perinatal center, but they could not save the baby there - on June 1 he was gone.
According to Yuri, experts identified bilateral pneumonia, and acute cardiopulmonary failure was named the cause of death.
- Moreover, the pneumonia was already with an abscess, and it is formed for 8-14 days. It means that my son fell ill at least a week ago, says the father of the deceased baby. - At this time he was in the perinatal center.
However, the examination, which was carried out later, did not reveal any violations in the actions of the doctors.
Elena and Yuri do not believe the results of the examination. They argue that medical records allegedly began to appear that were not previously available. And even there was an X-ray from May 11, which was not previously available among the documents. Moreover, Yuri states that this picture has nothing to do with his child.
Time is running out
Last week, Yuri Bogushevich managed to attend a personal reception with the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin.
- Parents from the Nizhny Novgorod region expressed disagreement with the conclusions of the forensic medical examination about the causes of death of their newborn child in a hospital in the city of Dzerzhinsk, - the press service of the department reported. - At the end of May 2018, the parents insisted on the discharge of the baby from the perinatal center, having issued a voluntary refusal of treatment. The next day after being discharged, the boy's health deteriorated sharply, after which he died.According to the applicants, the criminal case is being investigated extremely slowly, which may lead to expiration of the statute of limitations. Alexander Bastrykin instructed to complete the investigation of the criminal case as soon as possible and send it to court.
By the way, the criminal case was initiated under the article "Causing death by negligence", and the statute of limitations for bringing to responsibility under it is two years from the date of the crime. This period expires in three months.
The chief physician of the perinatal center was removed from office for the duration of the investigation.
- The Ministry of Health of the region is conducting a second internal check, - commented the Deputy Governor Andrei Gneushev. - For our part, we provide all the necessary support to the investigating authorities, as we ourselves are interested in an objective and prompt investigation of this case.
According to the deputy governor, the region is modernizing the health care system, including the children's one, so each such tragic incident will be dealt with very carefully so as not to allow anything like this in the future.
