The longest queue is for a pediatric cardiologist at the Bakulev National Medical Research Center for Cardiovascular Surgery. Many are standing with babies in their arms.
Three-year-old Nastya (children's names have been changed - author's note), who was born with a heart defect, was operated on at the Nizhny Novgorod cardio center when she was only ten days old. According to her mother, now nothing threatens the girl's health, but the cardiac surgeon who operated on her invited them to undergo an examination here with a specialist at the federal clinic.
- We are annually observed both in the cardiology center and at the cardiologist at the place of residence, - says the baby's mother. - But a look from the outside, especially from a specialist in the country's best clinic specializing in heart diseases, is very important.
There is a long queue to the ophthalmologist. 11-year-old Lena has amblyopia and squint. Her mother hopes to get an answer to the question whether the child needs to undergo surgery to strengthen the eye muscles now or later, when the period of rapid growth of the body is over.
“Our main goal is to provide targeted assistance to children,” said Nikolai Kononov, a representative of the organizers, vice-president of the Health League charitable foundation. - We have already visited Dubna, Rybinsk, Plyos and Kineshma, where a total of 567 children were received. Almost half of them received referrals to federal medical centers. Ahead we have Murom, Ryazan, Kolomna.
Participants of the action in Nizhny Novgorod took 10 thousand steps along the St. George Congress and the Chkalovskaya Stairs - that is how much each person must walk every day to stay healthy. To accustom Russians to a healthy lifestyle is the main task of the national project "Healthcare".
