Since the beginning of 2020, more than 1.7 thousand orphans have found a family in the Moscow region. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Education.
“Since the beginning of the year, the guardianship and trusteeship bodies of the Ministry of Education of the Moscow Region have placed 1, 720 orphans in foster families. In the region, work is being carried out on a daily basis to place orphans in families. This is a very important area of our activity. The key task is to prepare future parents for a new stage. To this end, a school for adoptive parents operates in the region - its passage is a prerequisite for adoptive parents. At school, psychologists, doctors and lawyers answer the most pressing questions, help prepare for parenting - it's completely free and available to everyone - to take a child into a family. We have 73 such schools. Since the beginning of the year, 1 thousand 713 people have already been trained there,”said the Minister of Education of the Moscow Region Irina Kaklyugina, quoted by the press service.
According to her, at the moment there are over 4 thousand foster families in the Moscow region.
The press service recalled that almost 24.5 thousand orphans and children left without parental care live in the Moscow region, of which more than 15.5 thousand children are being raised in foster and foster families, almost 8 thousand children live in families of adoptive parents.
