Deputies in Bashkiria are planning to consider amendments to legislation that will change the rules for the preparation of guardians and adoptive parents who want to adopt a child into a family, reports [Mkset.ru] (https://mkset.ru/news/society/22-05-2020/v- bashkirii-uzhestochat-trebovaniya-k-opekunam-i-usynovitelyam) with reference to the press service of the regional parliament.
As the speaker of the parliament of Bashkiria, Konstantin Tolkachev, explained, these changes are due to the fact that recently there have been cases when adoptive parents refuse guardianship.
“The child becomes an orphan twice. This is a very deep psychological trauma and disturbing social phenomenon. It shouldn't be like that. This requires better training and careful selection of guardians,”said Tolkachev.
The amendments assume that the training of guardians will no longer be carried out by municipalities, this function will be transferred to the regional ministry of family, labor and social protection, which has more opportunities, experience and competencies.
Earlier, the portal [Vostok-Media] (https://vostokmedia.com/news/society/10-03-2020/v-gosdume-predlozhili-rasshirit-lgoty-na-priem-v-detsady) reported that in The State Duma was offered to endow adopted orphans and children under guardianship with a preferential right to be admitted to preschool institutions without waiting in line.
