Welder Alexei Spiridonov from the village of Bikey, thirty kilometers from Bratsk, has a hobby that may seem strange. In his free time from work, Aleksey drives pensioners who are waiting for their bus at the bus stops to the house. - I'm not doing this on purpose. When I am going somewhere on my business and I see a pensioner, I go up and offer a lift, as if a volunteer is making excuses. - Some refuse, they are afraid of a stranger. Those who agree then thank. Spiridonov spied the idea of bringing up the elderly in neighboring Bratsk. There are volunteers there who help people with disabilities and large families, and he decided to concentrate on retirees. He says that in winter there are many injuries on the streets, in front of his eyes a man of the age was once injured while getting off the bus. His wife and son treat Alexey's volunteering with understanding, his wife no longer scolds him for spending extra on gasoline. Spiridonov himself hopes that his initiative will be picked up by other motorists in the village. There are never too many good deeds. * * * The material was published in the publication "Interlocutor" 01-2021 under the title "Santa Claus for old women."
