The court assigned the parents joint custody, but for the most part the children lived with their mother. Once James came to his dad and said that now he is a girl. So his mother decided. According to the information resource The Texan, she came to this conclusion when one day James wanted a toy for girls from McDonald's, and then imitated the heroine of one of the Disney cartoons. The child's mother went to a clinic for transgender children and was diagnosed with gender disorder.
Georges, with the stubbornness of an obsessive, began to dress James in dresses, put on makeup, paint his nails. She even enrolled him in school as a girl named Luna. The next stage, which is advised by lovers of fashionable gender experiments, is chemical castration with drugs to suppress puberty and hormone therapy. The father considers the diagnosis as delusional. According to him, at his home the boy dresses normally and does not feel any discomfort.
It did not work out with the world and it came to court.
Younger asked the court to entrust him with the custody of both children, which would give him the right to single-handedly decide on their medical and psychological procedures. His lawyer explained that a seven-year-old boy is unable to appreciate the long-term consequences of gender transition, including the inability to have children. Not to mention other side effects, among which the experts invited to the meeting named a reduction in life expectancy and a high risk of psychological illness. The father suggests to wait and give James time to decide on his own. Younger launched the Save James website, raising nearly $ 50,000 in donations to support the case.
He has collected testimonies from the parents of classmates and the pastor of the local church, who unanimously claim that James considers himself a boy. "I spoke with him three times, it is impossible to confuse, he looks and acts like a healthy six-year-old boy," - local pastor Bill Lowell told The Federalist. Another friend said that when James was visiting them, he refused to play for the girls' team and joined the boys.
The lawyer noted that there are American Pediatric Association criteria for the diagnosis of gender disorder, and James does not meet them in any way. He is not depressed, does not show aggression, does not experience other psychological difficulties. But the adherents of the LGBT revolution are not interested in this. Snobbishly calling themselves liberals with open views, they with totalitarian categorical rejection of any arguments in favor of the normalcy of the boy.
Giorgoules, armed with a team of five lawyers, filed a counterclaim. She demanded to limit the frequency of meetings between the father and the children, oblige him to refer to James as a girl and call him Luna. Moreover, in her opinion, the father should not allow James to communicate with any person who does not agree to consider him a girl. To top it off, she intends to sue her ex-spouse for money for a hormonal transition for her son.
As an argument, she brought to the court a letter of recommendation on gender transition, which was written by the Therapy Center for Transgender Children (GENECIS). "Gender identification is unique to each child and may differ from the gender that he acquired at birth," - says the description on the website of this program. It opened in 2015 and is the only medical center of its kind in the southeastern United States for children aged 4 to 17.
Giorgoules' lawyers at the meetings vilified the child's father for refusing to recognize his female identity, considering such a reaction to be violence. After listening to the arguments of the parties, 11 of the 12 jurors ultimately voted to grant full custody of the children to their mother. The verdict means that in the future she will be able to single-handedly decide what medical procedures are needed for their health, up to gender transition.
