The State Budgetary Healthcare Institution "Children's Sanatorium" Solnyshko ", which, prior to the suspension of activities, carried out year-round and round-the-clock comprehensive medical and pedagogical rehabilitation of children with nonspecific diseases of the respiratory system, ENT organs, neurological pathology and speech disorders, will be attached to the State Budgetary Healthcare Institution" Penza Regional Children's Clinical Hospital named after N. F. Filatov ".
The corresponding decree was signed on May 15 by the chairman of the regional government Nikolai Simonov, acting governor in connection with the leave of the head of the region, Ivan Belozertsev.

The name of the regional hospital will not change after the reorganization. The location of the institution will also remain the same - Bekeshskaya Street, 43.
The main goal of the activity is the provision of medical care to the population.
As previously reported by PenzaNews news agency, since January 30, 2019, the activity of the children's sanatorium “Solnyshko” in the Zavodskoy district of Penza has been suspended due to the expert opinion received the day before that the building is emergency and unsafe for stay.
Deputy Minister of Health of the Penza Region Marina Vorobyova at a press conference specially convened on February 19 explained that a new building where children can undergo rehabilitation has not yet been found. According to her, a kind of alternative to the sanatorium, designed for 90 children, are 50 rehabilitation beds deployed in the regional children's hospital named after N. F. Filatov, places in hospitals - at the same institution and in the city children's polyclinic; and it is also planned to build a rehabilitation center for children for outpatient care. The deputy head of the department clarified that the staff of the institution has not been dismissed, "appropriate measures are also being taken on it."
In addition to journalists, four mothers of young patients attended the press conference that day, according to whom there was no real alternative to the children's sanatorium, since it worked around the clock.
In turn, Marina Vorobyova said that the round-the-clock work of the sanatorium was not in demand, since there were very few children from the districts of the region, so in reality it worked as a kindergarten.
At the end of March, Governor Ivan Belozertsev commented on the situation. He expressed the opinion that the most expedient in the current conditions would be to create a municipal kindergarten with a health-improving bias on the basis of the center for helping families and children of the Oktyabrsky district, which is specially adapted for the reception of children.
