The governor of the Penza region, Ivan Belozertsev, responded to the tragedy that occurred on Saturday, November 21, in Ternovka. There, while walking on the ice of the river, a 5-year-old child drowned.
“I was told that the drowned child is not entirely from a well-to-do family. Where is the prevention system? Why didn't you foresee that this could happen? Where was the power? - the governor was indignant during the operational meeting on Monday, November 23rd.
He demanded to investigate the circumstances of the incident and find out how the preventive organs worked with the family. In addition, representatives of the authorities were targeted at explanatory conversations with children and parents.
“We will not put a police officer at every facility, this is impossible. Now is a dangerous period! Frosty weather has not yet set in everywhere, ice is not everywhere so strong that you can go out on it. There is where the water does not freeze. And every year our children practically die during this period: last year in the Bessonovsky district, now in the regional center, Belozertsev emphasized.
Representatives of municipalities were instructed to pay attention to dangerous areas and protect them from children. In each case, specific solutions will be worked out.
