Deputy Speaker of the State Duma of Russia Irina Yarovaya proposed to create an interdepartmental information base of pedophiles, RIA Novosti reports.
This will help prevent them from working with children, she said.
"Dear colleagues, of course, the issue related to the creation of a single publicly accessible interdepartmental information base in relation to the persons who committed these crimes is very important from the point of view of the further impossibility of carrying out activities by these persons who have previously committed crimes in conjunction with labor activities related to children We have these prohibitions in our legislation, but in order for these prohibitions to work really, it is necessary to create such a base, "Yarovaya said.
Yarovaya also proposed to create a program for the rehabilitation of child victims of sexual violence. According to TASS, according to Yarovaya, victims of pedophiles themselves commit similar crimes in the future.
“As the investigated criminal cases show, those who have previously become victims of violence become criminals,” Yarovaya said.
Earlier, Senator Elena Mizulina, who was then the head of the State Duma Committee on Family, Women and Children, prepared a database of images of child pornography.
