The Friendship School, a developing center for social adaptation of children and adolescents, received a Presidential grant for the purchase of specialized equipment for children with developmental delays. The other day a complex of simulators "Owl-nanny" was installed here. Teachers-psychologists help kids to study on them. A group with such equipment appeared in Vladivostok for the first time.

Now eight babies go to the correctional group, whose parents have already used many ways to restore the health of their child. The new equipment, created by Russian specialists, helps children solve problems with coordination, concentration, and reaction.

According to the head of the development center Maria Smotkovskaya, the main goal of the correctional group is to socialize the child, help him learn to communicate with peers and adults.

“It is very important just to teach these children not to be afraid of other people, to liberate them. In our kindergarten, we do not isolate children from the correctional group from the rest. We hold joint classes and holidays for the children. We work very actively with special children, but it is impossible to assign an individual teacher to each child for the whole day. Therefore, with the help of "Owl-Nurse", we organized a developmental environment in the group. Children can exercise on simulators, which are more like a swing, on their own. By activating gross motor skills, children relax and perceive information better, "she said.

Associate Professor of the Department of Clinical Psychology, neuropsychologist Anna Katasonova emphasizes that "The Owl Nurse" increases the cognitive activity of children.

“Intellectual activity is closely related to the senses. If the mechanism for transmitting information from the body to the brain is impaired, the child loses motivation to try something, to explore. The new equipment - essentially a sensory room - helps babies to perceive information received from the outside world and process it in such a way that it can be applied in life,”she said.

The mother of one of the pupils of the correctional group, Maria Volkova, notes that her son Gleb goes to classes with pleasure and interest.

“It's good that there is such a group, there is no longer any need to take the child to different specialists during the day, here teachers work with him all day, teach him to communicate with peers. I really hope that with the help of new simulators and classes with a neuropsychologist, we will achieve maximum results,”said Maria Volkova.

It should be noted that this year the "School of Friendship" won another Presidential grant for occupational training and psychological support for children and adolescents with disabilities. Pupils of one of the Primorye correctional boarding schools will be taught the skills of pottery and weaving. In addition, a psychologist will work with the children, who will help to establish relationships with society. Classes will be free for children. Grant funds will be used to purchase ramps and to pay the employees involved in the project.

Recall that the task of actively involving NGOs in the provision of social services was set in the Address to the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation by Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to the head of state, the active entry of NGOs into the social sphere will lead to an increase in its quality. The government, together with the authorities in the regions, will have to complete the formation of the legal framework for the activities of such organizations. In addition, Vladimir Putin ordered to consider amending the legislation of the Russian Federation to expand the practice of using non-governmental organizations as providers of social services at the expense of budgetary allocations.
