UFA, January 10 - RIA Novosti. The guardianship authorities seized a five-year-old child from a family in Sorochinsk, Orenburg, in which a two-year-old girl died from frostbite, Olga Ivanova, executive secretary for juvenile affairs of the city of Sorochinsk, told RIA Novosti.

Earlier, the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Orenburg region reported that a two-year-old girl, left unattended, froze to death in Sorochinsk. Investigators opened a criminal case. According to the investigation, the mother left children 2 and 5 years old to play in the courtyard of a private house and went to the neighbors. The woman returned home 1.5 hours later and found the body of her two-year-old daughter on the street without outerwear. The forensic medical examination showed that the child died of general frostbite.
"The five-year-old child was removed from the family on the day of the tragedy. Now he is in the Sorochinsk medical unit, the guardianship authorities are preparing documents to send him to an orphanage. In addition, they are collecting documents to deprive a woman of parental rights," Ivanova told the agency.
According to the interlocutor, the family where the tragedy occurred was not registered as dysfunctional.
“At the time of the incident, the children’s father was at work. After the incident, it turned out that the children’s mother abused alcohol,” Ivanova explained.
