Master classes, children's theater laboratory and much more await guests of the international festival of arts for children "Big Break". It will be held in Moscow from October 28 to November 5, and its main topics this year will be tradition, family and family values, as well as historical, cultural and literary heritage.

The festival was created in 2007 with the support of the Moscow government and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation as an international theater festival for children. In 2017, the organizers decided to expand the format and make an arts festival. At the same time, most of the events are created at the intersection of genres: theater and visual technologies, performance and collective play, concert and storytelling, exhibition and master class, lectures and performances, etc.
"Tradition is the most important thing that can be passed on to a child, and interdisciplinarity is the language that is closest to a child," says the creator of the festival, director and producer, author of the "Golden Mask" Eduard Boyakov. knows about the enormous influence of the Russian tradition on world cinema? We have included in the poster "Howl's Moving Castle" Yahiro Miyazaki, the owner of the Venetian "Golden Lion", and "Morozko" by Alexander Row, also the winner of the main prize of the Venice Film Festival. years later inspired a Japanese director to create a film. Immediately after the premiere, "Frost" was bought by Hollywood and became a cult film in Eastern Europe. And there are dozens of such examples!"
Boyakov does not believe that the classics are boring for children. "Big Break" will be attended by as many as three Pushkins: "Pinezhsky Pushkin" by Pomor peasants performed by folk stars Sergei Starostin and Tatiana Bondarenko, "The Tale of Tsar Saltan" in a modern interpretation of the Perm Academic Theater-Theater and art objects of the children's art gallery exhibition " Izopark " Pushkin, Gogol, etc. "What could be more interesting?" He adds.
In addition, "for the first time in 100 years" the organizers decided to read to children not just fiction, but the Lives of the Saints. “We have invited national artists such as Olga Ostroumova, Ilze Liepa, and young people. We will read accompanied by a video installation from the magnificent illustrations of the children's hagiographic series of the Nikaia publishing house,” Boyakov said.
