- Fireworks are traditionally presented to the city by patrons. I think he is needed. The problem is that thousands of townspeople can simultaneously walk out onto the embankment to look at it. And this should not be allowed. But are the townspeople ready to admire from their districts? On this topic, I'm launching a poll in Stories. Weigh the pros and cons, - wrote Oleg Gataullovich on the social network.

The result of the vote, according to the mayor, will not serve as a guide to action. It is necessary to study public opinion, the mood of the townspeople and will be taken into account when making a decision, said the head of the regional center.

Oleg Imameev also spoke about the ethics of decorating the city for the New Year during a pandemic. Some residents are urging to give up "frills" and send money to fight the coronavirus. Someone even demands to stop the overhaul of roads, the reconstruction of the embankment, to wait with lighting.

The mayor does not agree with this position.

- Funds for New Year's decoration are targeted. The regional government sent them to us as part of a subsidy as an administrative center. With all the desire to spend them on ventilators, medicines, additional payments to doctors, etc., we cannot! I understand that each of us has a lot of emotions now, but let's not speculate on this topic. There is a law that we have no right to violate, period, - said Oleg Imameev.

The second side of the issue, according to the head of the city, is moral. The question arises as to how appropriate, when people are massively ill, the number of deaths is growing, to be engaged in decorating the city before the New Year.

- Yes, it is appropriate! Moreover, it must be done! - the mayor answers the question. - Together with you I grieve for the departed, condolences to relatives and friends. But life, one way or another, goes on. Perhaps comparison will be too much, but even in the most difficult years of the country it has always been important to give people a holiday. I believe that the New Year should remain the New Year even now. Yes, without mass events and in the circle of relatives (recommendations in the near future will be given by the regional operational headquarters). But it is very important to create a festive atmosphere. For everyone: adults and children. And so there are too many reasons for despondency lately.

We will remind, the head of Belogorsk Stanislav Melyukov said that fireworks will take place in his city, if the epidemiological situation allows. However, organizations will have to abandon corporate events.
