CHITA, February 28. / TASS /. A new kindergarten was opened in the village of Tungokochen in the north of the Trans-Baikal Territory, which in 2013 suffered from the flood of the Karenga River. This was announced on Wednesday by the press service of the regional government.
"The need for the construction of a new building arose back in 2013, when the old kindergarten was damaged by floods. However, it was not possible to quickly cope with the problem, since funding for construction stopped in 2015. At the initiative of Governor Natalya Zhdanova, funding was resumed in 2017. continued, "- said the press service.
The construction of the institution was carried out according to the federal program for the modernization of regional systems of preschool education. Its cost exceeded 60 million rubles.

The village of Tungokochen is located in the north of the Trans-Baikal Territory, on the left bank of the Karenga River. It is home to about 900 people. In June 2013, the overflowing river in Tungokochen 250 residential buildings, the population was evacuated. The regional government introduced an emergency regime.
The Trans-Baikal Territory in 2017 did not fulfill the program of eliminating the queue for kindergartens for children from three to seven years old.
