CHITA, April 18. / Corr. TASS Ilya Barinov /. The Governor of the Trans-Baikal Territory Natalya Zhdanova instructed the regional authorities to work out the issue of providing subsidies to private kindergartens in order to make them more affordable, the press service of the regional government said. Earlier it was reported that Transbaikalia is experiencing a shortage of places in preschool institutions.
"The Governor instructed the Deputy Prime Minister of the regional government Ayagma Vanchikova to work out the issue of providing subsidies to private kindergartens, which will reduce parental fees for their attendance. This measure is aimed at reducing the queue to preschool educational institutions in the region," the press service said.
They added that they plan to provide subsidies from the regional budget. It is assumed that budgetary funds can be used to support the work of teachers and training costs. In the near future, the relevant ministries will study the issue, make the necessary calculations, after which a draft resolution of the regional government will be prepared.
"Every child should be able to attend a kindergarten, no matter whether it is public or private. Only in this case, frequent kindergartens should be available, the payment in them should not be prohibitive," Zhdanova said.
According to the authorities at the beginning of the year, the queue for preschool educational institutions for children from three to seven years old was eliminated only in 18 out of 31 districts of the Trans-Baikal Territory. The largest queue remains in Chita - 7.6 thousand children are not provided with places in kindergartens. At the same time, in 2016, four preschool education facilities were commissioned in the region, providing places for 881 children, in 2017 it is planned to add an additional 190 places at the expense of kindergartens in the city of Sretensk, the villages of Tungokochen and Zarechnoye.
