The State Duma on Thursday, March 29, will consider a bill exempting benefits that families receive upon the birth of their first child from income tax. The first deputy chairman of the State Duma, Alexander Zhukov, told reporters about it.
“Among the most important laws there will also be amendments to the tax code, which will exempt from income tax benefits received by families upon the birth of their first child,” A. Zhukov said.
He clarified that at present such a privilege is enjoyed by large families.
Earlier, the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes recommended that the lower house of parliament adopt in the first reading a government bill that provides for exemption from personal income tax (PIT) for monthly payments to families in connection with the birth or adoption of the first and second child. From January 1, 2018, additional measures of state support were introduced in the form of a monthly payment to families in connection with the birth (adoption) of the first child and a monthly payment from maternity (family) capital in connection with the birth (adoption) of a second child.
