In Krasnoyarsk, a three-year-old boy received second-degree burns of 5% of his body on the playground in the Planeta shopping center. While mom was distracted, the child wanted to drink water from the cooler. On his own, like an adult, he poured boiling water into a glass.
“For a second, I just turned away to sit down. He first drank, then pushed the glass away, all the water on him. Section of it, the employees of the "Planet" called an ambulance. One of the witnesses ran to the pharmacy, bought medicine, everything was swollen up there,”said the mother of the child, Svetlana Nikulina, in an interview with the Prima TV channel.
On an ambulance, the child was taken to the regional hospital, the correspondent of Sibnovosti.ru reports. His lips and chest are burned. The body is likely to be scarred. The "Planet" administration is conducting a check on the fact of what happened.
“The cooler is a certified equipment with a two-factor protection system: hot water is supplied only when two levers are pressed simultaneously. For 17 months of its work, 250 thousand people have used the service, there were no accidents before,”the shopping center noted.
The Planeta administration noted that the cooler was installed at the request of parents, for whom it is convenient to dilute infant formula with hot water.
