Over time, bright plastic towns in the yards of new buildings in the Ural capital will be replaced by playgrounds focused on obtaining tactile sensations. A new trend has emerged in the design of adjoining territories. As the press service of Atomstroykomplex explained to Uralinformburo, now psychologists, urbanists, and even parents themselves are increasingly thinking that children need less ideal conditions for normal mental and physical development.

“Last year, we conducted a study of the behavior of residents in the yards of new buildings. We noticed that children use equipment not according to the scenario: first of all, they realize their craving for height, climbing on all the equipment available in the yard - from benches to orphanages. secondly, they are interested in textures and tactile sensations, therefore, for example, it is more interesting for children to draw with crayons not on the asphalt, but on a wall or a bench, and even more with a wet stick on the sidewalk. we are less worried about our children, said Nadezhda Abakumova, deputy director for development at Atomstroykompleks.
The results of the study showed that the variety of small forms on the playground is not important for children: the parents "rearrange" the kids from the sandbox to the swing, from the slide to the spring - they are bored of guarding the children in one place.
According to the specialists of Atomstroycomplex, a new direction in filling playgrounds will be the so-called controlled risk - thoughtful conditions in which a child can experiment, get tactile sensations, try his hand at overcoming obstacles, while remaining safe.
"The easiest way to create such conditions with the help of water, - explained Nadezhda Abakumova. - A fountain in every yard cannot be made, if only because it is difficult to operate. But there are small streams where boats can be launched, water pumps in which water can be pumped, dams and water labyrinths are quite realistic to do. Yes, such playgrounds will require more vigilance from parents - so that children do not get their feet wet or drop their gadgets into the water. But they will be able to compete with the muddy puddles to which all children are drawn anyway!"
