In the medical unit 9 on Bratyev Ignatovykh Street, 2, a department for the second stage of nursing the pathology of newborns and premature babies was opened. It is located in the building of the maternity hospital. Now patients and newborn babies will be able to receive the necessary medical care within the walls of one medical institution.

The new department has five single rooms and three double rooms. Mothers will be in them with their children. The genital branch at MSC 9 accepts difficult cases from all over the region. Now, if pathology is detected after childbirth, mothers and babies will not be sent to other medical institutions.

“If earlier children were transported after a certain stage to other institutions of the city and the region, now they will be able to receive help within the walls of our institution and stay in it until they are fully discharged,” said Evgeny Kamkin, chief physician of GBUZ PK MSCh 9.

This will reduce the risks associated with transportation, and accordingly, a decrease in infant mortality is expected, says Mikhail Maltsev, Deputy Minister of Health of the Perm Territory. According to him, a full-fledged perinatal center is now operating at MSC 9.

Let us recall that this year the infant mortality rate in the Kama region has reached its historical minimum, amounting to 5.2 cases per 1000 children. This figure is lower than the average for the Volga Federal District (5.3) and throughout the Russian Federation (5.5). The decrease in infant mortality was 19.6% per year. Earlier, the head of the Perm Territory Maxim Reshetnikov noted that these indicators form a certain trend that needs to be consolidated this year.

By 2019, seven children's medical institutions are expected to be built in the region. Five new children's polyclinics will appear in Perm, one each in Solikamsk and Kudymkar. This year, construction began on two children's clinics in the Kirovsky and Ordzhonikidze districts of Perm, and another in Solikamsk. In total, ten polyclinics, five hospitals, and four outpatient clinics will be built on the territory of the Kama region by 2023.
