Sochi 2014 Olympic champion in figure skating Adelina Sotnikova spoke about what motivates her.
“My sister is the main motivator in my life! I want her to arrange her life at the highest level! Our family was not rich, we lived very modestly, dad worked 2-3 jobs in order to get money for equipment and my sister for examinations and medicines when it was needed. I am very grateful to my parents for what they have done and are doing for my sister and me.
When I started making money, then, naturally, I gave everything to my parents, I didn't really need them then, my parents knew better where to apply them and for what. Well, I began to understand that I can help my family if I work hard, and even save something for myself. I used to save money for a wedding, now I quit this business and invested in our business with my mother.
I understand that in our time you need to rely only on yourself! Nobody else. Neither husband, nor father, nor friends. Alas, today they are, and tomorrow there is no one. Therefore, now the motivation is to work hard so as not to deny yourself anything in the future.
