The Ministry of Education, Science and Youth Policy of the Komi Republic did not renew the contract with the director of the Pazhgin boarding school 15 Alexei Budny, who in July sent the children to clean the hogweed. Human rights activist Igor Sazhin told about this to the 7x7 website, who provided the editorial board with a copy of the letter about the end of the contact.
The current employment contract with Weekday ends on October 13th.
A criminal case was initiated against Budny under Article 286 of the Criminal Code (“Excessive powers of office”). The administration of the educational institution denied the facts of involving children in work and violations of sanitary standards.
It became known at the end of July that the boarding school management sent its pupils to chop the cow parsnip with shovels several times. During an inspection of the office of the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights, it turned out that two students received chemical burns due to the fact that they were not given overalls. “Bodily injuries in two pupils are qualified as infliction of minor harm to health,” noted the children's ombudsman Anna Kuznetsova. Later, the KomiOnline website wrote that Komi Education Minister Natalya Mikhalchenkova spoke about five burn victims.
