Self-sufficient and financially secure adults often dream of unexpected gifts: a children's designer, a kaleidoscope tube, a game console, psychologists said.
As Irina Obukhova, a full member of the European Association for Psychotherapy and the Professional Psychotherapeutic League, noted, the outgoing year was not easy and unusual, therefore, gifts may not be the same as we are used to receiving. When stress is taken into account, they have a therapeutic function.
- That is, the topic of gifts is as a form of therapy, no matter how pompous it may sound. Because everyone wants a little warmth just when there is uncertainty around and some incomprehensible things happen, - said the expert.
Psychologist Irina Larina stated that from the point of view of the therapeutic function, it is not the content that matters, but the form of the gift. Since adults often remain children in their souls, it is important to create the feeling of a fairy tale.
- The older we get, the more we miss the feeling of a holiday, surprises, as it was in childhood when we ran to the Christmas tree in order to quickly see gifts from Santa Claus and unpack them, - said the specialist.
Larina believes that many adults would be happy to find a children's designer or game console under the Christmas tree, RIA Novosti reports.
Earlier it became known that the average check for children's gifts in Russia increased by 15-20 percent.
