The prosecutor's office of the Primorsky Territory found that the security measures taken at the zoo, where the leopard attacked the child, did not meet the requirements of the law. The materials of the check were sent to the investigating authorities to make a decision to initiate a criminal case, according to the website of the regional prosecutor's office.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Primorsky Territory, on January 6, a family from the city of Arsenyev came on an excursion to the zoo, where a leopard attacked a child who came close to the cage and scratched him, grabbing his head with his paws. Parents were brought to administrative responsibility under Part 1 of Art. 5. 35 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation ("Improper performance of parental duties").
“At the time of the incident, the safety measures taken by the zoo management did not meet the requirements of the current legislation. Thus, in violation of the requirements of the Safety and Industrial Sanitation Rules for the zoo, the protective devices separating visitors from animals turned out to be unreliable. and external fences, as well as animal isolation devices that are inaccessible to both animals and park visitors, the conditions for reliable isolation of animals from visitors, etc. are not provided, the prosecutor's office said.
As previously reported, despite the presence of protective fences, the child was able to approach the cage with the predator by squeezing between the bars. Now the zoo management has decided to increase the frequency of the twigs.
