YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, June 5. / TASS /. The authorities of Sakhalin and the Kuriles will allocate 762 million rubles for the summer rehabilitation of children this year; in 2017, 548 million rubles were spent for these purposes, the press service of the government of the Sakhalin region reported on Tuesday.
"According to preliminary information, over 48 thousand schoolchildren will be covered by various forms of recreation, health improvement and employment in Sakhalin and the Kuriles over the course of three summer months. This year, 762 million rubles have been allocated from the regional and local budgets for the summer health campaign. During the school holidays, 360 children's camps of various types are opening in the island region - stationary, school, labor and recreation, tent and profile. For comparison, in 2015 there were less than 300 such sites, "the statement says.
According to the press service, the cost of a voucher for 21 days of stay in the camps, depending on the comfort of the conditions and the range of services, varies from more than 40 thousand rubles to 54.6 thousand rubles. However, thanks to the benefits, parents purchase vouchers for only 15% of the total cost. For children from families in difficult life situations, free vouchers are allocated.
For the third year, young Sakhalin and Kuril residents have the opportunity to rest in the camps of the Republic of Crimea. The first hundred children and adolescents flew to rest on June 2. Until the end of the summer holidays, another 300 children will be able to rest on the Black Sea coast. On behalf of the Governor of the Sakhalin Region, the regional Ministry of Education is now purchasing additional 400 vouchers for the fifth summer shift to the Crimean health camps.
