On the basis of the Regional Children's Clinical Hospital, a scientific and practical conference on topical issues of pediatric gastroenterology was held. Specialists of medical healthcare organizations of the Sverdlovsk region exchanged experience with their Moscow colleagues. Leading specialists of the Federal State Autonomous Institution "National Medical Center for Children's Health" of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and the Russian National Research Medical University named after N. Pirogov.
“The relevance of this event for practical health care is very high, because the issues that are being discussed today are based on an interdisciplinary approach to the treatment of patients. Also relevant is the possibility of a constructive dialogue between doctors of various specialties related to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the digestive system, in order to develop algorithms for interaction and continuity of the use of treatment approaches in relation to this category of patients, the chief physician said in his welcoming speech to the conference participants. At the conference, metropolitan specialists presented reports on functional digestive disorders, metabolic liver diseases in children, diagnosis and treatment regimen for H. pylori infection at the present stage. Specialists of the gastroenterology department of the Regional Children's Clinical Hospital presented a clinical case of Niman-Pick disease.
“Analyzing the statistics of gastroenterological diseases in children on the territory of the Sverdlovsk region, over the past 10 years, we can note a downward trend in morbidity. The achievements have shown, we will continue to try to improve,”said the chief freelance children's specialist gastroenterologist of the Ministry of Health of the Sverdlovsk region, head of the gastroenterology department of the CSTO Evgenia Novozhilova.
The conference participants discussed issues related to a wide range of gastroenterological problems from the standpoint of evidence-based medicine. Rare clinical cases were presented for discussion with an overview of current approaches to the management of these patients.
