Alla Dzugaeva, Deputy Head of the Department of Labor and Social Protection, spoke about the kind of social support provided to Muscovites.
“This year, 135.6 thousand large families, 209 student families, 78.4 thousand single mothers and 29.4 thousand recipients of monthly compensation for caring for a disabled child or disabled child from childhood received help,” said Alla Zaurovna.
But this is not only about material assistance. Alla Dzugaeva also noted that today, compared to 2012, the number of identified orphans has decreased by half. This is due to the active work of foster schools and organizations for orphans.
Ekaterina Berber, who is also the Deputy Head of the Department of Labor and Social Protection, spoke about the targeted assistance provided by city social service organizations. Families are also supported by large retail chains that provide food products to those in need, as well as equipment and supplies for children.
“Moscow ranks third in Russia in terms of child support payments,” noted Ekaterina Berber. - Since 2014, a pilot project has been organized in Moscow to provide housing to families who have adopted older children or children with disabilities.
